poly student my ass
i guess in reponse to my post earlier on, some smart alec company actually went to poll some smarties in the academic field to do a survey on the top universities in the world. alright, im flattering myself, im sure its not in response to my gribes, but still it shure came in a good timing to shut me up i guess?? what can i say? nus is 18th and ntu is 50th. and don't get me started on smu
am i that crazy to get upset over school rankings?? of coz not!! totally could swallow that.. now this is what im pissed with:
so newpaper today ran an article describing the various universities and their 'type'. so apparently, ntu students are comparable to poly students, and our fave accessory is the laptop (hey i like my toshiba sat pro very much thank you!) but poly students??!! don't everybody dress in jeans and tshirts?? don't tell me nus or smu students wear suits and prom dresses for lessons?? plus plus plus from their earlier articles, its evident that our students obviously wear fbts (yes max and beth, thats you!!) and lok kok hall tshirts or singlets. and i don't remember poly students having the freedom to wear that.
well the nxt part really makes me mad, in the list of places where nus students are most commonly found: velvet underground. and ntu students?? mohd sultan!! what the.. i mean im definitely shure that the ntu and nus students are equal in this area, juz because they have law ppl doesnt mean they would be at velvet?? i thought there's an age limit (more than 18) to that anyway?? and they forget we haf the very savvy students of communications and information!! unless of coz communications and info students don't consider themselves as part of ntu, its quite evident from the way they operate, they are like an entity of their own. but still i like to think their part of ntu, coz i also wanna be considered cool!! stomps feet and pouts LOOK AT ME!! IM SO COOL... WHEE WHEE WHEE WHEE WHEE
and im spent.. (ermm u folks out there need not point out the fact that computer engineers and fun/cool/happening don't go together..)
