another article
well this one is more bo liao, refer to straits times interactive article titled myanmar teen charged for illegal entry (i don't think i can link it, cause now sti needs you to be registered.. ). to summarise, basically this guy was caught swimming from m'sia to s'pore, and i quote, "The 19-year-old youth became the 200th illegal immigrant fished out of Singapore waters by authorities this year",
so does that mean he wins a prize?? i mean it'll be darn farnie if they gave him a voucher from SAFE superstore or something, like 'congrats! u are the 200th illegal immigrant, for that you get a 20 dollar voucher from SAFE superstore'. but knowing the law it'll prolly sound like this, 'congrats! you are the 200th illegal immigrant, for that u win a free stay for 6 months in changi chalet and 3 strokes of ur favourite s&m torture device'
which brings me to the next point, i quote again," Police said the man, whose name was not released, could be sentenced to six months in prison and three strokes of the cane if found guilty of illegal entry. ", if found guilty???!! this guy's caught SWIMMING across from m'sia to s'pore, i don't think he did it for leisure (unless he's from smu of cos), dunno isit the police guy or the journalist guy that said that, but i dunno, is there some 'not guilty until proven so' statements that muz be said? but i mean the proof's pretty obvious right?? unless he can claim that he deided to go for a long swim in he's myanmar home town and end up paddling he's way here.. oh well what do i know, im juz a computer engineer. better to ask lao pok.
