critical situation
i think in this age, we enjoy and take pleasure in seeing ppl being criticised, and going "oh thank god that wasn't me". look at the number of shows that involve a panel of judges ala the idol series springing up. its crazy, every 'talent' show has that kind of pattern. refer: xxxxx(insert country name here) idol, are you hot?? even singapore's star search has reverted to that kind of a pattern for the prelims.
and yesterday's hall dnd was like that too!! goodness, thankfully there wasn't the one obnoxious judge who gave all the snide comments like simon on american idol, else i guess the freshie's would have been devasted. yeah, but i mean all the pseudo idol shows all have this one guy who will play the simon role, its just so super irritating, i don't even think it's funny, i mean it's fresh with the first american idol, but i think it gets lame when everybody is doing it, for the sake of doing it.
and what are the judges for?? they only select the ppl to be qualified for the actual compeition, granted, but after that they are just there to give their stoopid 2 cents worth. they should be the one's judging what!! why leave it to the ppl???!! well in the case of idol, i think they could get away with it since its juz a popularity contest too, but for the rest, i mean seriously.. call yourself a talent show and get the common ppl to vote?? (brian's point, good point) hmmms oh well its all bout the money lately anyway.
