time to take stock again
well every new year, ppl always ask 'eh what's ur new year resolutions?'.. and its kindda become a rhetorical question over the years aint it? cos as we all know, we never ever stick to our resolutions (except to the one on our computer screens, k sorry that was abit of a computer geek joke). so im not going to start listing all my resolutions.
but what i do wanna do is to reflect on the year that has just passed. n it definitely was an interesting one. well for the first part of the year i really didn't know what was going on cept for the fact that i was running from lab after lab. and in between that i would have been @ breko's and then its back to lab after lab. also somewhere in that time span i found i had an ipod.. hmmm as usual, din do well for that sem.. ha
then immediately came mech camp and orientation for hall. that's when i learnt that you can be friends with ppl, but that doesn't mean u can work with em. and it'll stay as that i guess. yeah and somewhere between orientation and after, something happened and lets just say i couldn't have been happier.
then came toronto. its definitely an exciting time to be going to a different country, n i thank God everyday for the opportunity to see a part of the world that some ppl can only experience while watching discovery channel and living. i really really esp like the weather , shallow as it might seem, but singapore could really use a winter now and then. 4 mths isn't exactly a very long time, cos like if indie boy leaves in feb and comes back in dec, now that's a long time. but it aint a very short time either, like dan lin the music shen who leaves for 10 weeks at a time, which actually is quite a short time. so 4 mths is just a nice time frame i guess, just enuff... i guess i owe it all to my folks for this opportunity also, i mean i spent like shit loads of their money.. and the #$#%$@^#%@^%#@%%#^@# canadian exchange rate is so kan pua high lar.. 1.4... yeah but real glad that they were so supportive that they even set aside that fund since when they knew i had the intention to go, now to work my ass off to repay them.. nahh.. not now lar.. hahaha. and also thru it all, i wanna thank a certain somebody for waiting soooo patiently for me to return.. didn't think it has always been easy.
and sooo now here we are @ the start of a new year... oh btw new year's eve was quite awesome, met some new frens and basically we had a hell of a time .. basically laughing my balls off the whole nite... but that's besides the point.. here we are at the start of the new year, how is 2006 gonna turn out? i dunno, shure hope its gonna be a great one.. like i always do every year, i tell myself 'this year is going to be my year' .. but for now im just going to worry about not writing the wrong year in the 'date' field.
